Archaeological projects

The research work studying our archaeological heritage is ongoing. Here is some information on the different archaeological projects currently under way in Minorca.

 
PROJECT ENTRE ILLES

   Insularity, interaction with the exterior and social complexity: Bronze Age coastal settlements in the Balearic Islands.
This research project has the main aim of contributing to the knowledge about a set of social and funerary practices which were specific to the island of Minorca.
MENORCA HERITAGE RECOVERY 
Systematic study of construction processes in talayotic architecture
Project affiliated with Boston University and SUNY Brockport in Torre d’en Galmés talayotic settlement.
Archaeological research on a copper mine dating to the Bronze Age; the only of its kind documented to date in the Balearic Islands.
SA CUDIA CREMADA ARCHAEOLOGICAL PROJECT
ARCHEOLOGY AND HERITAGE ASSOCIATION

Archaeological project covering the "post-mediaeval" building in Torralba d'en Salort.
Quinquennial Project 2019-2023 of the archaeological intervention in sa Mola hypogeum (Alaior).
Five-year project (2019-2023) and 2019 annual archaeological intervention.
Archaeological and documentary analysis of Menorca’s Phoenician-Punic architecture.
