In this new meeting to be held in Paris, UNESCO will set the date and place for the celebration of the 45th UNESCO World Heritage Committee, where the future of Talayotic Menorca will be decided.

The Consell Insular de Menorca is taking part for the fifth year running in this initiative in support of refugees forced to emigrate. This year it will take place at two unique locations: Torre d'en Galmés and Montefí.

The Consell Insular de Menorca and Maó City Council have finalised an agreement to adapt and protect this monument, which contains engravings of great historical and artistic significance. The ultimate aim is to prepare the site for visitors.

This year the field season focused on the exterior of the western building in the western sector of the settlement, serving to gather new archaeological data and improve visitor conditions at the site.

This restoration and consolidation project is financed with Next Generation EU Funds, and is intended to improve visitor conditions at this Talayotic site located in Ciutadella.

The 17th extraordinary session of the World Heritage Committee has been held today in Paris, and the celebration of the Committee where the future of Talayotic Menorca must be decided could be unblocked.

The closing ceremony was held today at Torralba d'en Salort, during which López received his €2,000 study grant. Entries for the next edition of Becatalaiotica open tomorrow, 12 December.
